Delegates and officials of The Australian Workers Union (AWU) and the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU) have for the past month been selling tickets to a raffle draw where 100% of the proceeds went to the family of the Late Colin Fuller.

Colin Fuller was tragically killed in a workplace incident in September 2009.  Colin is survived by his two young children and his parents. 

The local Kandos community also rallied to assist the family, including a donation of a toy hamper from Dollar N Cents Variety Shop to the two children.

The raffle prizes where all donated.  The raffle prizes, donors and winners are:

• 1st Prize: $1,000 cash voucher donated by the Australian Workers Union and won by Grant McCartin.
• 2nd Prize: Westinghouse 420 litre Refrigerator donated by Electrolux and won by Jake Blunt.
• 3rd Prize: Sony Digital Camera donated by Sony DADC and won by Col Harris
• 4th Prize: Ferrero Sweets Hamper donated by Ferrero and won by Allan Pettersen.

Sony DADC also kindly donated the raffle tickets.

Russ Collison, the AWU NSW State Secretary, thanks the community for their generosity and assistance in supporting the raffle to help the family.

Russ believes the purpose of the raffle is two fold, firstly to support the family of worker tragically killed in workplace incident and secondly, make occupational health and safety a talking point in the community to remind us all how important it is to work safely.

The wonderful generosity of the community was greatly appreciated by the relatives of the late Colin Fuller.  Hilton and Colleen, Colin's parents, gave an emotional thank you and appreciation of the ongoing support they are receiving.
